Dénia is a bustling town midway between Valencia and Alicante where the foothills of the impressive Mount Montgó give way to the rich plains of the coast. It is a family resort with narrow streets and a palm-lined promenade overlooking the long sandy beach, which sweeps for several kilometres along the coast. It has a busy harbour and boasts some of the finest restaurants, bars and shopping facilities in the area.

The Mount Montgó nature park is the major landmark of the area. On a clear day you can see the Ibiza from the summit. The town sits at the foot of the mountain crowned by a castle, and a fortress containing the remains of all the cultures that have influenced this area.
